- Kindness & Honesty – Act with integrity, honesty, and a sincere intention to be kind in all interactions.
- Help Rather Than Harm – Strive to be of service and contribute positively to others' well-being.
- Speak with Care – Communicate assertively rather than aggressively or passive-aggressively. Speak kindly and gently, even in conflict.
- Equality & Respect – Treat all individuals as equals. No one is above or below another; leadership is a responsibility, not an entitlement.
- Accountability & Growth – Commit to self-awareness and continuous improvement in ethical behavior.
Code of Conduct
The following guidelines apply to all individuals who engage with The Meditation Organization, including members, volunteers, certified meditation teachers, and accredited course providers:
- Respectful Communication – Engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations. Profanity is not a prohibited form of speech, as long as it does not violate our principles of kindness and respect.
- Inclusivity & Non-Discrimination – We welcome all individuals regardless of background, identity, or belief system. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior is not tolerated.
- Ethical Leadership – Those in leadership or teaching roles must guide with humility, integrity, and respect for all participants.
- Consent & Boundaries – Respect personal boundaries, both physical and emotional. Unsolicited personal advice, physical touch, or coercive behavior is not acceptable.
- Transparency in Teaching & Business Practices – Be honest about qualifications, fees, and expectations. Misrepresentation or exploitation is prohibited.
- Non-Violence & Conflict Resolution – Disagreements should be handled through respectful dialogue and mediation, avoiding aggression or passive-aggressive speech or behavior.
- Substance Use & Professionalism – While personal choices are respected, when representing The Meditation Organization, maintain a level of professionalism appropriate for meditation and mindfulness settings.
Terms & Conditions
The following terms govern engagement with The Meditation Organization for volunteers, donors, certified meditation teachers, and accredited meditation course providers:
1. General Participation
- By participating in any programs or initiatives of The Meditation Organization, individuals agree to uphold the ethical principles and code of conduct outlined above.
- Violations of these principles may result in suspension or revocation of participation privileges.
2. Volunteers & Donors
- Volunteers agree to conduct themselves in alignment with the organization’s values and mission.
- Donations are voluntary and non-refundable, except in cases of error or exceptional circumstances at the discretion of The Meditation Organization.
3. Certified Meditation Teachers
- Teachers certified by The Meditation Organization must maintain ethical teaching standards and uphold the integrity of meditation practices.
- Certification may be revoked in cases of misconduct or ethical violations.
- Use of The Meditation Organization's name, branding, or affiliation in promotional materials must be authorized.
4. Dispute Resolution
- In the event of disputes, The Meditation Organization encourages resolution through dialogue, mediation, or internal review processes.
- If there is a dispute about whether an action or behavior has violated our Code Of Conduct or Terms & Conditions, the matter will be evaluated and decided upon by an independent, third-party board of experienced meditators.
5. Modification of Terms
- The Meditation Organization reserves the right to modify these terms as needed. Continued engagement implies acceptance of any updates.
